Ajuy Fieldtrip

Last February 25 2011, the second year(2nd yr) learners went to Ajuy,Iloilo. Specifically in Camp Regulus and Gawad Kalinga.

Taking the trip from Iloilo city to Ajuy was really, really, really, really long. It took us like 2-3 hours to get to Ajuy with stop-overs. We experienced a lot of obstacles when we went up the mountainous mountain. It was really a great experienced although it was quite difficult to climb.
After a short day with Camp regulus, we went straight ahead to Gawad Kalinga. We were really shoked beacuse they were the ones who offerred us food(plus water) for free. Our field trip was really a double-purpose.
It was like a field trip and our second(2nd interaction). We met a lot of people that day. Different kinds.

Baloons

A balloon is an inflatable flexible bag filled with a gas, such as helium, hydrogen, nitrous oxide, oxygen, or air. Modern balloons can be made from materials such as rubber, latex, polychloroprene, or a nylon fabric, while some early balloons were made of dried animal bladders[citation needed]. Some balloons are used for decorative purposes, while others are used for practical purposes such as ,meteorology, ,medical treatment, military defense, or transportation. A balloon's properties, including its low density and low cost, have led to a wide range of applications. The inventor of the rubber balloon, (the most common balloon) was Michael Faraday in 1824, via experiments with various gases.

St. Valentine

Saint Valentine (in Latin, Valentinus) is the name of several martyred saints of ancient Rome. The name "Valentine", derived from valens (worthy, strong, powerful), was popular in Late Antiquity. Of the Saint Valentine whose feast is on February 14, nothing is known except his name and that he was buried at the Via Flaminia north of Rome on February 14. It is even uncertain whether the feast of that day celebrates only one saint or more saints of the same name. For this reason this liturgical commemoration was not kept in the Catholic calendar of Saints for universal liturgical veneration as revised in 1969.  But "Martyr Valentinus the Presbyter and those with him at Rome" remains in the list of saints proposed for veneration by all Catholics.
In theEastern Orthodox Church, Saint Valentine the Presbyter is celebrated on July 6,and Hieromartyr Saint Valentine (Bishop of Interamna, Terni in Italy) is celebrated on July 30. Notwithstanding that, conventionally, members of the Greek Orthdox Church named Valentinos (male) or Valentina (female) celebrate their name on February 14, according to the Typikon of the Great Church of Christ (Τυπικὸν τῆς Μεγάλης τοῦ Χριστοῦ ᾽Εκκλησίας) Saint Valentine is not venerated not on July 6, nor on July 30. In fact, there exists no Saint Valentine in the Greek Orthodox Church.

Intramurals 2011 Day 1

The first day of Intramurals 2011 was very intense, since we had the pep core. It was very difficult for us to make a mistake because almost everybody knows that we are really prepared for it. Mr. Pedroso was really expecting a big thing from us. He made us practice the whole presentation in 4 days.
During the day, I had some conflicts because I joined two events. One was Soccer Kickball and the other one was Ethnic Dance. I have a game, at the same time, I have to attend dance practice. I divide myself in to two?! That's why I chise to do play Soccer Kickball first since it's really important to me(my first major game). In the end of the game, we lost because we lacked time for practice.

Preparation for Intramurals 2011

This January 2011, the students of Assumption-Iloilo form grade 4 to year 4 are preparing for the intramurals. It will be held on January 19-21 2011. It is really busy because we have a declamation to memorize for our CAF project and an Interaction in Zarraga (S.O.S Children). We need to stay up to 5:30 pm for the dance practice which all of the members of the tribe will be doing. We really had a hard time because we were called "back-up dancers" (tribe a-manasseh) . So we think we will have less movements in our dance. But no, it isn't. It is really very tiring because we did almost everything.

A day without Rose

November 13,2010- Kimberly Ness Habaradas-Leaño's birthday is one of the most special days of this school year, according to my friends. Because we are free, not being disturbed by only one topic which we sometimes hate , and not being annoyed.
If you notice, some of my friends posted in their blogs the blog " A day without Rose". You will see that each of us are expressing our true feelings with this "Rose".
